Matt has practiced civil litigation in Seattle since 1987. He has a broad range of trial and appellate litigation experience, currently focusing on class action and consumer protection matters, intellectual property, and general civil litigation. Recent successes include successful prosecutions of copyright and trademark claims in federal court; favorable settlements of class actions involving hospital charity care, undisclosed hospital charges, and improper sub-prime lending practices; defense judgments for several Fortune 500 clients in private arbitrations; and victories for Washington farm workers and immigrant workers in civil rights and pro bono cases in both state and federal courts. In 2002, Matt was named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the WSBA. He chairs the Laurel Rubin Farm Worker Justice Project and serves on the Legal Aid for Washington Fund (LAW Fund) Board.
