John is a trial and appellate lawyer who successfully represents Fortune 500 companies in impact litigation and individual plaintiffs against multi-billion dollar companies. For many years a litigation partner at a national firm, John founded Phillips Law Group in 2004 to provide cost-effective service to a broad range of clients. For each of his clients he focuses on the gist of the case, what matters – to courts and juries – so that the litigation plan remains focused and spare. In 2010, for example, he (1) won a significant medical malpractice jury verdict for a 66-year old plaintiff; (2) jury-tried a difficult product liability case in Florida for a Fortune 500 company; (3) prevailed on dispositive motions representing two different plaintiffs prosecuting copyright claims in federal court; (4) won a Ninth Circuit appeal representing a Fortune 500 company in an employment discrimination case; and (5) prevailed in an antitrust and RICO case in Nevada, representing a Fortune 500 company.  John is a frequent speaker at state and national CLEs relating to mass torts and class actions.
