John is a trial and appellate lawyer who successfully represents Fortune 500 companies in impact litigation and individual plaintiffs against multi-billion dollar companies. For many years a litigation partner at a national firm, John founded Phillips Law Group in 2004 to provide cost-effective service to a broad range of clients. For each of his clients he focuses on the gist of the case, what matters – to courts and juries – so that the litigation plan remains focused and spare. In 2007, for example, he (1) won a significant settlement for the owners of copyrights that had been infringed; (2) made the prevailing arguments in three Court of Appeals’ cases and one Washington Supreme Court case; and (3) after winning important pre-trial skirmishes, negotiated unprecedented class action settlements for subprime borrowers and hospital patients.
